The British car show in Austin this morning.  Good turnout of Minis, but not so for other marques.   Could be the weather.

There was a couple of facebook posts complaining about the hotel not allowing trailers, and people saying they would be cancelling.

Well, there is the alternative of driving the cars to the show.

Just imagine if you were to show up with this to a car show and park it alongside the MGBs and Midgets.

I knew the Chinese were making MG cars and SUVs, but didn't know pickup trucks were on the menu too.

It has that enormous front end and STILL needs that ugly hood bulge?

Yeah, not what I ever imagined to see an MG badge on - I thought they might do an SUV like everyone else.....

Since it's RHD, I do wonder what market it was built for? It has a 2L diesel engine, and it's in Thailand, so maybe for Australia?

Profile and front end look a LOT like a Chevy Colorado.

Part of the big trend over the last decade or so is to make smaller pickups look totally rugged and butch, don't you see?   ;D

I just looked and found out that the Thai market really, really loves pickups.  Half (!) of all vehicles sold there are pickups.  And the MG Extender is only sold in Thailand.  With that big market at least one version of the new Ford Ranger is built Thailand for their domestic market and for export too (to the UK for example).

Looks like the type of truck the driver is required to have a supply of energy drinks on hand at all times.

Awakens the strong hearts AND lightens your burden! Makes me want one for sure. Not even to mention that it's GIGANTIC! Woohoo!

Trying to find out how much it weighs.  Only makes 161hp and 275 ft lbs of torque.  Hopefully it's not too "gigantic"  121.gif

Well, it does have an i-Smart intelligent system!   77.gif

Not quite as big as the one you were next to.  But the paint was crazy nice.

Saw this filing up at Buc-ees in Texas City.  Turns out I had met the owner before when I was looking at a Mini van in Houston.

Not sure why anyone would spend money importing a Rover 100/Metro Diesel!

To have the only one in the state if not the USA?

Wow. That is so cool.  About 30 years ago I was in the UK and saw a U2 coming in to land at a nearby RAF base.  I wish I could have seen the full landing with the chase car.  It was probably a Camaro at that time.
