We all have our favorite sources for parts for our Minis, maybe a thread with them all listed would be a good idea?

For engine parts and bits that are common to all British cars, I use a local source - Victoria British 800 - 255 - 0088
Engine parts are common with Sprites and Midgets and I've found their prices to be exceptional. I've also bought the odd Lucas electrical part from them, however they do not carry Mini parts per se. Their catalog is all online, I just go to the MG Midget catalog. For those of us in the middle of the country, shipping is really cheap and delivery is fast too.

I also like 7Enterprises for great service and knowledgeable people, but all of the US Mini parts suppliers are higher priced than well......anybody else!

From England I've been really happy with Mike Guido from Mini Sport 321-890-9888 He's in Fla and has a wealth of knowledge too. Prices from England are usually half or less what they are from US suppliers, but you need a pretty good sized order to make the shipping worthwhile. However, you get your order in 3 days as everything comes DHL Air.

Being on the right side of the pond, as opposed to the left ( 71.gif) , I typically order from:

https://www.minispares.com/  Pretty much everything for the mini here.

https://burlen.co.uk/  All SU parts

http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/  All electrical supplies

http://www.holden.co.uk/  All sorts of different things, copper ignition wires & terminals, lamps and 'stuff' - heck, I once bought a wool sweater from them, and have my eye on a picnic basket.

http://www.automec.co.uk/   All brake pipe supplies and a fantastic flairing tool.

http://www.castrolshop.dk/shop/frontpage.html  Too bad it's in Danish - Castrol lubricants & specialty greases, as well as a special blend 20W50 with extra ZDDP

http://www.minisport.com/   Whatever MiniSpares doesn't have, or for a better price

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/   Assorted race bits, got my Luminition Optronic ignition system from them

http://www.calverst.com/   Cylinder head and other exceptionally high quality goodies

Mytmous mentioned DSN, here's their website too

http://www.dsnclassics.co.uk/mini-parts-shop/

GB is in Fla too.....I don't find their website to be that easy to use, so a phone call is probably the best way to reach them.

MiniTechnique has a huge selection of used stuff, but they are in the UK

Phoenix Trim for rubber seals is supposed to be the best place to get those....

http://www.phoenixtrim.co.uk/

Somerford is one of the best places for obscure and accurate info on which parts go to what.

http://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/home

I've used Somerford's parts catalogs and diagrams to figure out what stuff my car is supposed to have as well as how it goes together.

Thanks Dave, I feel a phone call coming on!

This thread should become a 'sticky'

I'll move this to the parts section and sticky it for future reference.

I've sent a bunch of friends to Dan for panels and other restoration parts.

I need to redo my supplies.  Getting low on some things.  Actually looking into carrying replacement mechanical parts.  I tried the whole listing what I can get drop shipped, but having to be the middle man emailing back and forth to my wholesale guy in the UK was a major PITA.

MtyMous

I know the feeling. I've seen a microcosm of that world in the multiple group buys I've arranged. It's not fun. lol.

For now I'll stick to being the purchaser.

Dont forget Moss Motors!

Having a warehouse on the east coast - they usually can ship same day - and arrives to me almost next day or within 2... UPS and USPS shipments

Some things do come from Ca Warehouse- also if small enough - USPS Priority - cross country within 2 days is acceptable to me.

Prices are also more favorable than the other Big Mini specific guys in CA.

SEVEN is my preferred ordering for specific items.

jollyrogersmotors.com got my Lucas 576 lamp from them. They take shopping lists from US buyers and buy it by visit UK swap meets few times a year. They are very friendly and located in Massachusetts, US.

I have a good supplier for abrasives, nutserts, and ARP fasteners.
The cheapest place I found for ARP and his Roloc sanding discs are long lasting.

Just another Plus one for McMaster Carr - I was looking for a 3" long stud 5/16 -18 on one end and 5/16-24 on the other, the only place I could find it was MC, they had it in stock and I had it the next day! Shipping can be a bit spendy for one stud but it's not anything I could see needing another in the future, so I only bought the one.

I did find carb mounting kits that had four studs for more money, but with shipping they came out about twice as much.

The post-1984 style of front indicators are available on Amazon for a little more than $8  (listed as for a Land Rover because they used them too).

These are the single filament style, so for blinkers only, no running lights.

Import Duty Tax when buying parts from UK??

Anyone specifically from California purchase parts from Minispares, Minisport etc.... Have to pay any import duty tax??

MiniDave

I buy a significant amount from MiniSpares every month it seems, I rarely get hit with import duty on my shipments - even one that amounted to well over $2K.

Once in a blue moon I have a duty fee.  It's usually 35 bucks on a big order of metal.

knowell

Thank you for the fast reply. I kept my order just below 2k just in case. Good to know its not that hefty if imposed.

tmsmini

Sometimes shipping is an issue with UK suppliers.
I have made a number of purchases within the last few months.
KAD gets the prize, shipped DHL, almost reasonable and arrived in 5 days.

tmsmini

I just ordered an MPi/SPi specific part from David to hold the MFU or relay box.

I also got a note from Caerbont that they are shut down and my gauges will be on hold.
I also saw that 7 Enterprises posted that Newton is also shutting down.

Shipping Issues
