I am using a Lumenition Magnetrinix MTK007 electronic ignition.

What resistance coil should I be using?  I was told 1.5 ohm?  Is this correct?

The car is 12 Volt, Chasis Ground.

Ok i need to be let out of the dark here.If a Lumenition is referance to a type of optical triger whay the consern for the coil resistence?

The Luminition Magnatronic is a magnetic trigger, yes the name is confusing. The significance of the coil impedence is related to the electronics built into the Magnatronic after the trigger. There are transistors most likely fabricated on an integrated circuit that drive current into the low voltage side of the coil and quickly disconnect it. This causes the magnetic field inside the coil to collapse and generate a high voltage spark.

Hope that helps,
