Jim sent me a post card from his recent Wilmington trip. I added the sticker to my bus fridge.

What is a postcard?  Isn't that something from the 80's?  LOL!

Looking good, when I saw it, I thought of you and thought you would like it as a part of your personal history.  I loved that city, I would go back in a minute and spend another weekend.

Whats with the black 217 Door?  I am guessing a movie, quick google search says The Shining but no image matches.

Seems to be a white car thing there is a guy up the corner from my house with a White Golf GTI, front plate says STRM TROOPER. Has Star Wars stuff all over the car.

I was just saying to my wife, "I wonder what the south end of Greenland looks like"

It is like you rear my mind.

Not really but thanks for posting that, pretty cool.

Room 217 from the Shining.  The Stanley Hotel in Estes where I have been countless times is where he wrote the book.  They have a lot of Shining memorabilia there.

Jims5543

Ah, I thought it was a Shining reference, was not 100% sure. I have not watched that movie in ages.

The R53 got another mod this past weekend. I had to change the oil filter housing gasket. I dedided to do a while I am in there mod. I dropped the stock header and cats and installed a Milltek header and high flow cat.

VERY VERY VERY happy with this mod, it really woke up the car, gives it a much better exhaust note and my ass says it make it a bit more peppy.

The old header was not horrible. I was impressed, it looked almost efficient. Losing that pre-cat helped a lot though.

Dumb and dumber was also filmed there for the hotel scenes. Interesting place.

I didn't know Dumb and Dumber shot there. Interesting.

I looked up the Hotel out of curiosity.

Ha, yes I'll know in a couple hours when I run out to the shop. Hopefully it's his arm reaching into my mailbox. Another package was delivered from Amazon this morning and no evidence of mail on the patio. The thing that makes it uncomfortable is it's an event ticket that's about $1000.

That is why I use a private P.O. box service.  I get part of my regular mail and all my packages sent there since there is always someone to actually receive them and put them away for me to pick up.

Have you considered tossing a ring camera out there pointing at the front porch to keep an eye on things?

Do you have internet at that house? If not then disregard.  Unless you want to spend big $$ on a cellular equipped game cam.

No internet out there.  The only thing stealing packages was the neighbors dog and they just moved out.

I had one of those. Her name was Daisy she was a Boxer belonging to the A-hole who lived below my vacation home in NC.

He would not speak to me because I was not local. 3 years I had that house and not one word was uttered. One time before I knew about his defect, I tried to engage him, he turned his back to me and walked away.

I thought maybe he was hard of hearing, a nearby neighbor who was also at one time an outsider, told me it was because I was new here. He said they typically warm up after about 7 years.

Daisy was taking everything from our house and placing them on her front porch. My BIL was a smoker he was there helping me with a project he kept losing packs of Cigs. He thought he was losing his mind. He placed a decoy pack outside and kept an eye on it, there was Daisy!! She was taking them, mystery solved, we followed her to her front porch where there were about a dozen items from my yard there. That asshole neighbor could not be arsed to even return them.

I loved that house and town, really did not like the guy down below me.

One wild thing? He owned a construction company but hated outsiders. Make that make sense.

Quote from: 94touring on February 23, 2025, 05:42:02 PMThis was about as obnoxious as you could imagine.  Rarely do I feel compelled to run people over in my truck, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't imagine how great it would have felt.

One bit the dust.  The gangs of kids with mini bikes and 4 wheelers had been ramping up lately.  The cops haven't been enforcing the laws.
