The storm kicked up out of nowhere and was gone just as quick.

Had to run around outside getting all the equipment in to shelter. It all reminded me that I need to clean out the garage to make room.  ;D

So what is the plan for matching up 2 different colors like on the stripes?  I know it's not as easy as, 'put a piece of tape over the blue area and paint the white area'...(is it?)

When I painted the little rust spot on the back of my '05 I masked the area off, primed it, and painted it.  Took the tape off and had a nice ridge of primer showing... 8.gif

He probably painted the white first, then masked the stripes out, then painted the blue, unmask it all, then clear everything together.

More prep work today.  Went over the body again, about have the doors prepped, got the shock mounts ready where I had to drill out busted bolts, roof masked, and yeah that's about it for today.

Just another day of prep.  Engine bay is ready for primer.  Doors are on their final sanding.  Body is ready.  I "might" have it painted tomorrow.

Good news is its blue, bad news is I ran out of paint.  Next bad news is I'm having to do testing on virtually all my days off in October.  So the roughing up and rest of the spraying/clear will hopefully occur in two weeks.

Wasn't too thrilled when I realized I wasn't going to have enough.  This blue being dark and metallic needs a little more spraying to get a consistent layer.  So close, yet so far.   :(

Houses?  Lol.  Just need enough to get under the fenders, more on the engine bay, a light mist coat on the body, and flares at some point.  I did order a new gun today since my old one is starting to show wear.  Pretty excited about it.  Probably retiring the old one as my sealer primer gun.
