Does this sound like a ignition switch going bad?

So I have an intermittent electrical problem. Turn key to the "1" position fuel pump and every thing else on the circuit energizes. Turn key to the "2" position nothing more turns on, pump continues to run, oil pressure light, alternator light all work. Turn key to start fires right up, but no tach, no AFR, no voltmeter. Wiggling wires where they exit the steering column sometimes brings them to life. Turning the key on and off doesn't change things.
I've checked the fuses with a multimeter and put them in and out to make sure I have good contact.
Disconnected and reconnected the connectors coming out of the column.
Everything that's unswitched works horn, lights, clock, instrument lights.
I dread taking the dash out to check the wiring for a loose ground or such...

Wiggling wires and things suddenly working means you got a bad connection somewhere in that area. At least you know which wires they are!
