Mini East Meets West 2024 Spearfish, South Dakota July 8-12 2024

With the 1 hour gain in time zones and light traffic all day today, I made exceptional time and ended up in Lamar, Colorado for the night.  It looks like I will end up arriving a day early as it is just over 8 hours into Spearfish from Lamar.

I originally thought I would only make Amarillo or Dumas at best.

Yep!  I was able to run on cruise-control set at 70 mph or the speed limit - which ever was lower.  Mostly nice roads, so smooth sailing so far.

Most of Texas (except for going through the small towns) was on 70 mph cruise as the peed limit was usually 75.  I prefer 70 as the cruise while towing.

Across Oklahoma and Colorado the speed limit has been 65, so that was the cruise setting.

Made it safe & sound.  Got checked in to the hotel - no problem with having arrived a day early.  I even got a first floor room not far from an outside door, which was good since I got sprinkled on in SD and rained on when trying to unload at the hotel.

I finally got to meet Peter (Whee) in person as well.

Home and dry.....nothing fell off or broke. Might have a tire with the inner treads separating, but I have a good spare tire so no biggy.....the Audi is a fantastic tow vehicle but I still miss my Clubby.

Even tho the grass is really tall and needs to be mowed, I may wait a couple of days - it's going to drop down into the 80's in a few days - supposedly.

What's the deal with the tread?  I took a look for wear before I left early that last day, but didn't notice anything.

It was great seeing the RestoMini regulars in Spearfish. A good time was certainly had by all.

We really did Howard, glad we got to see you too - that was a heck of a haul for you!

The tread is worn on the inside, which should indicate too much toe out - but you know we checked it - twice! at some point I'll move the front tire to the back and see if the noise goes away - if it doesn't I'll have to dig deeper.
If it does I have a spare tire that I can swap onto that wheel and have it aligned, after I set the ride height again.
