Not sure this is anything other than a publicity stunt, but MINI is offering to convert your classic Mini to a battery-powered electric car with the work done by MINI employees at the Oxford factory.

Range of the converted Mini EV is very limited at 100 miles and the cost is not being discussed (gee, I wonder why?).   The conversion is said to be completely reversible to go back to regular A-series engine.

John McGee offers a similar package - he wants $20K for the kit, no idea how much to install one......

I'll stick with my A series for now

My guess is the cost will be close to $100K plus.

This one from several years ago was that much:  https://www.autoweek.com/news/green-cars/a1716646/classic-minis-will-go-electric-125-mile-range/

I spoke to an owner of a classic Mini converted to an EV at a car show several years ago.  She hinted at a cost of $80K, plus the cost of the Mini of course.

So the fact that BMW is not revealing a price to make a Mini into an electric car likely means it's one of those "if you have to ask you can't afford it" situations.
