The future of “crate engines” is a full electric kit?

GM is testing the waters at SEMA about possibly offering complete kits to convert some of their old models to electricity.  In say, 10 years, could this be what most people want to do with their old hobby cars?

The 60-kWh Electric Connect and Cruise package includes:

60-kWh battery pack
200-horsepower electric motor
DC-to-AC power inverter to drive the electric motor
DC-to-DC power converter to power low-voltage systems
Wiring harnesses, controllers and water pumps for battery heating and cooling

Agree, since a decent battery pack is probably going to cost you close to that as well.

And what would I spend all my time on if not constantly trying to keep my mini engine running.
