The Bring a trailer (BaT) vehicle and lots more selling website has been sold to Hearst Autos (Autoweek, Car and Driver and Road and Track) for a rumored $300,000,000 m.
The founder Randy Nonnenberg and co founder Gentry Underwood are still running the site.
Not a bad payday.

Holy crap!  I joined BaT about 8 or 9 years ago when it was just a place for car enthusiasts to discuss any interesting cars that were for sale on other places like eBay and Craigslist.

Never thought BaT would become its own online auction site like eBay (because that's basically what it is like, eBay for those few invited to sell, and with a robust comments function and better photo hosting)
