MiniManiac

I wanted to jump on here and introduce myself to the forum.  My name is Seth Weaver and I am from the KC area.  MINIDAVE told me about the site and the upcoming drive in April.  I am super excited to get the classic out after this very cold winter.

About the classic:  I bought it back in 2004 when I lived in KY.  I started a MiniClub (BluegrassMINIs) during my time in Kentucky.  This little car has been to Kansas, Colorado and back to Kansas.  We mostly keep it running with the help of MINIDAVE, John P.  and Styers in the KC area.

Some Mini facts:
1275 A+ series engine
Manoflow LCB exhaust
Metro Turbo front brakes
Highlows
Loads of other stuff

I enjoy changing the look so who knows what it will look like in April...........

Welcome!

This is the only internet forum I regularly go on and post.  Everybody here is friendly, helpful, and usually in a good mood.  4.gif  The regular internet troll sorts of things don't happen here and it's great.

Nice Mini-BTW!

This pic was taken at the school's shop, we were replacing the exhaust system IIRC

Anything you're wanting or needing to do the car?

MiniManiac

I think I have an issue with the vacuum advance on my dizzy.  Past shops have told me that is retards the timing instead of advancing it.  I had it unplugged for a bit but I have it hooked up again.  I don't know.....

I put some dyno pics up in the other thread.  I can remove them if it is too much.

Which dizzy are you running?  Popping out the carb and running hot are indications of retarded timing.

I honestly don't remember.   I had it all lined up to send off to be rebuilt but I ran out of extra time.  I need to look up my notes but I think it is the 59D?

Didn't know if you have a standard dizzy, csi, 123, or other fancy styles available.

MiniManiac

I never changed it so I think it is just standard.

It looks like this one on Minisport, it has the same style vacuum hook-up - 65D

I'll have my new fancy schmancy timing light with me, unless Dan goes and get's one too.

I may have a vacuum unit for a 65d handy.  Dave should bring his timing light too.

Also, check your vacuum line elbows aren't rotted or broken.
