One of the largest Texas "All British Car Days" 2017 show is approaching.  The dates this year are September 22, 23, and 24, 2017 (Friday through Sunday).

The official site with details is here: TXABCD

Friday has an evening "Meet & Greet" at a local tavern.
Saturday has registration, a morning drive (to a winery in the past), and an afternoon "rally" ending in an optional dinner.
Sunday is the "Show & Shine" with awards.

This coming week I should have rear quarter lights in, rear lights, tank back in position, front light/indicators wired up, and probably enough time to throw on the boot lid and possibly color sand for the buff-o-rama. I ran out there this morning to throw on the doors to verify they in fact matched and reshimmed the one side.  Dash is loose till I fire it up and verify the new oil line doesn't leak off the back of the gauge.

Not sure.   I started going to this show in the early 1990s when it was held on a big field at Zilker Park in Austin.  There were always at least 100-125 cars back then.  Sometime in the early 2000s it moved to Round Rock (about 25 miles north of Austin) and I'm guessing it's a much bigger show with the all the growth of the Austin area and all the wealthy California transplants who moved to that area.

The TxABCD still regularly pulls in about 110 to 130 cars each year.  It is an "All British", so lots of different marques to see.

The classic Mini presence varies from 5 to 10 cars most years, occasionally up to 15 cars some years.  The 50th anniversary of the Mini saw about 45 Minis so up!  Not been near that since.

The new MINI contingent is also way down from what it used to be - running about 5 cars per year the last few years.

If I did, it wouldn't be in or with the mini.

You don't think your wheel issue will be resolved by then?   Or just not interested in taking the Mini that far?

I'm hoping it will be fixed by then, but yea driving it with the brakes and noise that far I'm not sure about.  The flat tow is in the future for sure.  We also have a concert to go to that Sat. night.

I'll definitely add it to the list of to do's for next year.  Almost have all the mechanical parts collected for the car.

Just got here but I can tell already this is going to be a different kind of British car show.   They are trucking in new Rollers  and Bentleys  i'm going to drop them near the 12 Aston Martin DB9s they already have.

Trailer queens  ::)

And they are modern cars!

So now they 14 or 15 cars here directly purchased because their owners have James Bond fantasies!

The local Rolls, Bently and Aston dealer(s) have been doing a "sponsor display" at the show the last few years.

The Aston club also has some folks that have their cars trucked in as well.

Things did not work out for me to be there this year.  Sorry I missed you Bruce.

BruceK

No worries Michael.  I'm sure I'll see you and your new Moke soon.
