As far as I know from the few documents I copied for references, all HIF cabs should have something similar for adjusting the jet.  They may not all be the "bimetalic" layered variety.

As Dan Moffet notes, they are actually like an upside-down 'T' recessed in the float bowl, so not all that obvious.

I wonder the same thing, I haven't had mine apart in a while so I just can't remember...

I don't know. It was likely a fuel economy requirement for vehicle manufacturers. My HIF44 came from Burlen as a replacement product and it had the bimetal piece. Later product "may" have had a plain one as a cost saving, but who knows? Mine came with the wrong throttle lever for Mini, but it did have both sizes of dashpot springs!

Spotted this TVR Tuscan at a car show last Sunday. I had only ever seen pictures of them, and I don't think there's too many in the US. This one was imported recently. It has something I've never seen before: a two piece bonnet.  The front part opens up over the radiator, and that part of the bonnet sits sort of on top of the back part which sits over the engine itself.

The only one I've ever seen was in the movie Swordfish! That bonnet is interesting.....

Michael and I went to a car show this morning with our Minis and were very surprised to see a couple of other Minis show up.

This Mark I Cooper S was said to be a 1071 and a 1963 model. The owner said it was used in the US for decades then at some point went to France and did some rallying and then came back to the US. It has stickers from everywhere and an extensive selection of now-defunct Marchal brand lighting from France at the front. The door handles were post 1966 ones with the extra boss so not sure how that jives with 1963, but things get replaced and changed over the course of 60 odd years.  The UK number plate is for a 1997 Rover Mini so there's a story there I'm sure.

Here's its companion Mini, some 35 years newer with a Dubai plate.

Also of interest, to me anyway, was this later Midget that had special styling pieces at the back to help with the aesthetics of removing the big ugly bumpers. I wanted to talk to the owner to see if they purchased these or just designed and 3-D printed them themselves, but they didn't stay near their car. Anyway, I thought they looked pretty good and would look even better if they were painted body color.

One more photo of the old Cooper S for purely nostalgia reasons. It has an under-dash mounted "Lear Jet Stereo 8" 8-track tape player. The pinnacle of Automotive audio luxury in the 1960s.

Yes, from the exact same Lear Jet company that built corporate business aircraft.
