As far as I know from the few documents I copied for references, all HIF cabs should have something similar for adjusting the jet.  They may not all be the "bimetalic" layered variety.

As Dan Moffet notes, they are actually like an upside-down 'T' recessed in the float bowl, so not all that obvious.

Now I'm trying to recall if I've seen that piece inside my hif44    Did they all come with that feature? 

I don't know. It was likely a fuel economy requirement for vehicle manufacturers. My HIF44 came from Burlen as a replacement product and it had the bimetal piece. Later product "may" have had a plain one as a cost saving, but who knows? Mine came with the wrong throttle lever for Mini, but it did have both sizes of dashpot springs!

Spotted this TVR Tuscan at a car show last Sunday. I had only ever seen pictures of them, and I don't think there's too many in the US. This one was imported recently. It has something I've never seen before: a two piece bonnet.  The front part opens up over the radiator, and that part of the bonnet sits sort of on top of the back part which sits over the engine itself.

The only one I've ever seen was in the movie Swordfish! That bonnet is interesting.....
