Yeah that's pretty scary  11.gif

I was doing a redeye across the country the other night and flew directly over my house.  All I could think about was how much I'd like to be in my bed down there.

The guy with the Jeep wants to be the first one to arrive at the scene of the accident!  ::)

Back in 1981 I owned a 1973 Celica ST and a 1974 Celica GT...loved that 'GT

I paid $600 for my '75 Celica ST in 1984 - which promptly got a Weber 32/36DGV, header, cam, ...

Yesterday I went to an event at the Oracle HQ in Austin, as they are a sponsor of Red Bull Racing.  As I was getting out of my car Sergio Perez was getting out of his.  We spoke briefly and a got this social distanced selfie (a little blurry as we were in a parking lot).

First time I've seen a Morgan Aero8 up close. If you can get past the cross-eyed look, it's magnificent.

The Beat.  Top up on the way there - it was 37° this morning!  Top down on the way home once it got into the upper 50s.

I just caught this on YouTube.  This Mini Clubman RV is at the NEC Classic Car show in the UK this weekend. Pretty cool.

2nd gen rx7 owners always driving some filthy clapped out looking car lol.  Jim's 2nd gen was one of the cleaner ones I'd ever seen.

Yes, it's a VTEC. Very nice estate.   I was talking with Brad, the owner, about how many revs my Beat pulls on the highway (about 5,500) and he said his engine turns about 5,000 RPM on the highway.  Of course my engine will run up to 9000 so it's not at the top of the range like his is.

Don's Vtec was way up there in revs on the highway too, till I changed his final drive ratio.....and in fact I drove the Pup today and now its a very relaxed 3500 @ 75 mph, very comfortable. Of course, the rest of it is still a mini Mk1, with wind leaks and other noise!   ;D

But boy howdy does it run, now that he's rebuilt the engine. It's still in break in mileage so we haven't even run it to the Vtec kick-in point yet, keeping it between 2 & 4K RPM, but man it's strong!

Brad's Vtec should happily run to 7500 RPM.

I think the Green Mini will be about the same 3500@75 with its 2.76 final drive too - at least that's what I remember Buzz doing with the same final drive......that coupled with the repairs I'm doing should result in a fairly comfortable highway cruiser.

You know how there is a new version of the Moke made in China?

Well, now there are brand new electric cars made there with 1950s American car styling.

What a hodgepodge of styling, it's like they took every GM car from the late 50's and melded them all together!

The past couple weeks at work...

Bulgaria out eating food and drinking copious amounts of wine and then to Oman where I chartered a boat and went snorkeling.  Eels, turtles, fish, and even some mountain goats on some of the nearby cliffs to check out.

It's a tough job........................but somebody has to do it!   77.gif

Very nice!  Those are parts of the world we typically don't hear much about.  They look like fascinating places to visit.
