OK, the show is about to start and all the cars have finally pulled in and there must be 500 cars here.  The venue is a race track and as it winds through the woods there is no end of cars.

Edit: entered a More reasonable number of cars

Was Emma the only Mini there?

Was that an actual 959? Being Texas I figure it probably is but there were a lot of fakes made too....

Was that a Lada? Toyota Crown? I have more fun seeing those than the Countach and F-40!

I didn't bring Emma, but there are a couple of Minis here.  I brought the Toyota.  Yes it's a real 959

Have you named your truck yet? I'll bet it was the only Toyota pickup there! Other than the typical Tacos and T100's...

No, a name has not come to me yet.  I would say about 95% of all the cars here are either Japanese or European.  Very few US cars. There are a bunch of JDM cars here from Kei Beats, cappuccinos, etc to Skylines to Japanese fire trucks to Land Cruisers.

Dave,

I can't answer the questions about Bruce's truck, but it is currently about 75* in San Antonio.

Not gonna quote pics.

Standouts:

The State Trooper Mustang, I have always wanted one of those, many years ago when they were selling them off after they retired them I was trying to justify (afford) buying one.

The Lambo Countach, my dream car from my teens.

The 959, what a rare car to see really cool.

The Lancia's ... drool....

Love the setting on the racetrack too. Very cool what track was that? Did I miss it in your post?

I left at 6am this morning and it was 45 degrees.  But quickly rose to the 70s in Austin under full sunshine.    Yes, the truck has working a/c — a good old fashioned R12 system.  I used it when leaving the congestion of Austin today, but once I got in the Hill Country it was a bit cooler and I used open windows instead.

Before bathroom partial remodel.

Wife ordered 2 Vanities off of Wayfare.  We had to have a plumber come and move the services in the wall. I got to do drywall work.

I get the one vanity installed. Then unpack the other counter top to find it is shattered in pieces in the box.

So we are now waiting on Wayfare to figure out a solution. There may not be any other counter tops or cabinets available that are the same.

Fingers are crossed they can find and ship us another unit.

We finally got the replacement counter top last week. I installed it and the sink, the sik was warped to hell, we are sick of delays, we made it work.

I finished up installing the mirrors this morning, then mounted the lighted mirror, that was a surprise for Mrs5543. We had to have an electrician come out Friday to sort out a circuit being out, it turned out to be a bad outlet box.

Super honest and cool company, I am arranging for them to come back in a couple of weeks and spend a few hours fixing all the problems in the house. There are some light switches that have not functioned for the 20 years we have been in this house. Plus he is going to wire in a whole house surge protector, some new LED high hats (we have LED bulbs in some old dated high hats) and then sort out random problems around the house. I am also going to have him hard wire the mirror into the outlet box.

I present the after pic:

Mrs5543 found these nifty faucets, they remind me of Beaker from the Muppets.

This project only spanned 3 weeks.

Mrs5543 decided to add another layer of complexity to our weekend. We have a company coming Monday to clean and seal the pavers on the back patio / pool deck. We have to move EVERYTHING off the back patio, including the sauna, which I have to take apart and put in the garage.

Meanwhile I have 30 jobs that all need drafting that I am trying to complete by Monday morning.

I hope to have at least 10 done this evening so I can knock out 10 more in the morning and the final 10 tomorrow night.

The Mustang had the complete emergency lights and siren still installed. (Insert Elwood Blues here: " It's got a cop motor, a four hundred and forty cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas.".)    ;D   The driver turned everything on as he went around the empty race track until arriving where the cars were parking.  It was f'in cool.

I had not heard of the track before, it was https://www.drivewayaustin.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5-iEmO_35wIVRhOPCh2lNg-jEAAYASAAEgJrnvD_BwE

FYI if you ever need to charge the system do not convert to R-134  Stay with the R-12 and get some 12-A.

Yes that was a real Lada, and the gauges were all labeled in Cyrillic lettering. I believe it was owned by a Russian guy who imported it himself.

The Toyota Crown was very impressive.  Unlike most Crowns that have wool upholstery, this one was outfitted in beautiful leather.  So even more rare than normal. (apparently Japanese execs value good wool over good leather)  I got to sit in the back and one of the coolest features is the front passenger seat back flips open so someone sitting in the rear can put his legs through the hole in the front seat and stretch his legs out.  Since it kind of resembles a big American land barge from the 1970s I asked the owner if it drives like an old Buick Electra i.e. "floaty".  He said no, it drives just like his Lexus 430 - Nice and tight and compliant yet smooth as butter.  And very very quiet inside

@Jims5543

How much was it for the whole house surge protector. I got to get moving and get one of those. The bomb cyclone last year knocked out thousands of dollars worth of circuit boards in our house.

The electrician told me to order this one. He is going to install it next time he is here.

Ironic, I just put my order in for mine about 15 minutes ago.

*edit*

I have always put  UBS (uninterrupted battery supplies) on all my expensive equipment. My TV's computers, servers, network hubs / firewalls, are all on battery backups.

I also have Toshiba Digital Surge protectors on everything in my office. We had a phase wire come loose on the power pole  in front of my office 20  years ago, the result was equipment going up in flames.  Since then anything that has value is on a surge protector.
