If this place was not public I could go into detail. I have had so much stress these last two days because of this "company".

I decided life is too short for this crap, I cut a check this morning and refunded him my fee for the work I did and told him to take a hike.

Now he is blowing up my voicemail and email and will not go away, mostly because he just screwed himself chasing me away.

He blew a rod because I told him it would take a week to get something done, he thought maybe if he sent 10 emails and called my office 20 times then had his customer call the office 10 more times I would then do what he needs me to do right away, like drop everything because his emergency is bigger than everyone elses.

Then he decided if he insulted me and how I run my company I would be shamed into taking care of him.  I should note this was over a 4 hour span yesterday morning while I was out in the field working and driving between jobs. I checked my email after 4 hours to find voice mails, emails and rants from him losing his shit on me. He thinks I sit on my ass waiting for him to call because he is my only client.

After he threw some insults at me I politely told him he should find another contractor to use and I was refunding him his money to spend with them.

Not a peep all day today, then at 2 PM it all started back up, I was 50 miles away on a job when it started. I just walked in about 20 minute ago and missed it all.

My guess is he got a price and time frame from someone else and it was 10X longer than my estimate and 3X as much. He just realized his fatal error.

Karma is a bitch.

Sad part is I was being a helpful as I could and trying to keep his costs down, the thank you I got was an entitled rant on me.

Life is too short for that crap.

This time tomorrow I will be on an Island in the Caribbean and he will not be a thought.

It's nice when you can just walk away from the headache of a bad client.  My girlfriend's startup business has run across one of these types.  She's still figuring her boundaries with hard to work with clients.  She asked me what I'd do with one guy in particular that was extremely difficult to work with.  My solution was just walk away as the headache isn't worth it.  Long story short he turned out to be incredibly flakey and a big waste of time and he never delivered on his end and their relationship ended.  She was like ahhh I'll know better next time!

I have been in business since 1997 for myself. In that almost 30 year run I have told 3 people to take a hike.

The first was 15 years ago, he was a smallish builder and an complete asshole. He went off on a rant with our office one screaming at my receptionist over something HE ordered wrong.  I decided life was too short for the first time and told him we just cannot work together, for whatever reason, we cannot get on the same page and he should find a better surveying company.

That resulted in a 5 page hand written fax written in what looked like crayon telling me and my staff how stupid we all are.


Second was 2 years ago, two guys building high end homes. One guy was cool and mellow, the other was an complete asshole. Anytime where was a problem he immediately accused us of ripping him off. Not knowing what we were doing etc...

After 3X of there rants I told him we suck and he should find another company to use, I refunded him too, which he demanded to pick up that day. He was a complete asshole.

Now this asshole.

Glad to be rid of him.

He is learning a very expensive and time consuming lesson.

I am super loyal to my customers, I undercharge and I go the extra mile. Turn into an asshole on me because you are entitled and you can take a hike.
