No wonder it's taking forever to get my car back together

Here are a couple of things I made for my car while I'm reassembling it. I do these things and think "ah it will only take an hour to make......"
First up is the fuel line from the firewall to the carb. The spring around the line is actually brake line protector, I thought it may help the fuel line a bit and I think it looks cool. The sketch was just to get an idea of sizing before I started milling it.

Second is some lathe work to make a new stainless banjo bolt for brake booster vacuum line, I wasn't content with the basic corroded original, so another hour of machine time.......

I like all those cool aluminium (? SS?) brackets to support hoses and such. I never understood why the fuel line runs up the left side of the car when the carb inlet is on the right.....or why they didn't run it across the bulkhead like you did.

Looks killer, but could vibration cause that spring to wear a hole in the metal line?

I know the old line in between the bulkhead and exhaust just seems ridiculous, hard to get to and close to the heat.
I don't think the spring will wear through, the line itself is pretty thick and they're designed for brake line protection which would see a fair amount of vibration under the car.
Time will tell. I have a fire extinguisher just in case...
