Spoke to a guy local to me that has a complete MiniTech style package for sale - however it's not a Honda - it's a Vauxhall! These are common in England - where they sell Vauxhall cars - and are nice because they fit better than a Honda conversion and make really good power.

He had it in his Mini Clubman and has used it for a few trackdays at Heartland Park and some local driving but says it will fit a roundnose car too. He pulled it because he went crazy and is building a MiniTec V-6 rear engined version instead!

Let me know if anyone has any interest - he's about an hour away from me so I can go check it out if someone has an interest.

Here's his ad on Mania   https://www.minimania.com/cars4Sale/14770/Part__Mini_Classic_Mini_parts_and_so

Edit: I'm going to look at the V-6 build this weekend!

Edit 2: His Vauxhall is a twin cam, it will only fit in a Clubman or extended round nose front end.

Vauxhall is in the GM family,
those motors make good torque

only problem I see with this swap is getting parts, have to import basically all the parts

the newer Vauxhall ecotec motors are the same as to what is used here in the states, ie L61 and LSJ

Yep, but since he's running carbs instead of FI and the engine is freshly rebuilt, it shouldn't need much in the way of parts.....
