Seems like a lot of Oregon is on fire.  Hope you are able to avoid that.

So far Bend and close surrounding areas are ok.
Lots has burned it's a shame they no longer manage the forest and sustainable logging.
The smoke was so bad Friday it was affecting the visibility inside my business shop.

The fires currently burning won't make it to Bend but if high winds continue and downed power lines we could end up with our own. That and there has been several cases of arson and serval false reports of arson.

This state is FUBAR right now maybe we can vote our way back to better times but it doesn't look hopful for OR. CA. or WA.

Thanks for asking if we are ok.

Maybe the Hillybilly Brigade can come to the rescue.

We learned our lesson here, they do control burns on our forests every chance they get, we got hammered about 20 years ago with a monster wildfire that tore into the residential areas out west. *

Since then control burns on all the state parks and protected areas when it is safe to do so.  I have some pics from a recent burn it is impressive.

* I recently surveyed a home, it was supposed to be an update from the 1980's I purchased the records when I bought the company.  I got there expecting a easy job just update the changes on the house. The entire house was changed, I had to double and triple check I was in the right place. I was... then I remembered the house was in the area where the wildfires tore through in the late 90's.  Most likely I was surveying a new home on the property where the old house burned down.

*edit - I try to type too fast and mess it all up
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride! -Hunter S. Thompson

Finally, smoke free for a few days in a row in Bend. Or 22 and 126 are closed possibly into next summer. OR 26  mount hood is the only direct route still open to portland from bend if it wasn't for needing freight out of portland I wouldn't care portland is not somewhere I ever need to go again unless they clean up there act.
