My eye caught the not-familiar shape of this Fiat today on Mexican plates.  I think it's a Panda model. Bigger than a Mini but smaller than a MINI.

I was listening to a conference earlier with US auto makers and sounds like they'll be able to produce small cars again like that fiat and all the other small things I see in Asia.

We live in hope! North American vehicles have gotten stupidly big and not very useful. For instance, a pickup truck was originally a low bed truck for small loads you would "pick up". The bed and sides were low enough to easily load and reach over. Now they have steps built into the tailgate because they are so high up. At least we can get things like the smaller European delivery/trade vans.

That's kind of what I was hoping for too. Options other than MASSIVE would be nice.
