Super capacitor instead of car battery?

So what you guys think about using a super capacitor instead of a traditional car battery?  Apparently some classic car owners are doing this.   I guess it saves a bunch of weight, but seems to me that's a whole lotta lightning sitting in a little box.  Not sure if there are safety concerns, such as in a accident.   One thing for sure, I wouldn't want to short that thing.
