Anyone here remember the original "Hairlip Mini" fiasco on Mini Mania?

There is a "Hairlip" Mini just showed up in the classifieds over there with a rather high price.

Lol I remember.  This car looks pretty nice.  Makes you wonder what they were thinking.

Oh yeah, the good o'l days...  There were some real battles going on.

Sure does make one wonder, though, as to why not just do the job right...   :-[

That's a really nice looking car - I don't know if it's $22K good looking, but it's nice. The hood is weird tho, why wouldn't they just cut off the lip and do it right?
Complete failure at retirement - but getting better!

Yeah the price tag is outrageous for a 998.  Those lips are just spot welded on.

Thats a lot of scratch, the Porsche I am looking at is much less than that costs.  What is the hairlip reference about, is it the leading edge of the hood? It does look amiss.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride! -Hunter S. Thompson

Yeah it's got mk1 trim but then they tossed on a mk3 bonnet chrome piece that doesn't match up.
