Title: Manifold resurrection
Post by: tmsmini on April 21, 2023, 03:07:53 PM
Any suggestions on what sealant to use to try to seal the heated manifold pipe as shown in the pictures?
The pipe was rusty enough that I could not cut threads fully. The fittings tighten, but I am sure I need to use a thread sealant.
I have a number of Loctite products and this Permaxtex stuff along with this other sealant.

I suspect almost anything will do as the pressure is only 13 psi.

I'd probably just try plastic tape to start unless the threads are really weak.  Otherwise any kind of silicon should do.

I agree, some teflon tape or pipe dope would be my first choice
