Title: Did some forum pruning
Post by: 94touring on May 28, 2022, 09:01:07 PM
Decided to go through the members list and delete anyone with zero post that hasn't been logged in within about the past year.  Deleted about 460 members!  Also looked at stats and we've been pretty dead the past 2 years compared to the previous handful.  So I guess post more  20.gif

Does replying to this count?
Sometimes I have simple things that I would post a question about, but I don't want to be annoying...

Over half the members signed up but never logged in again.  Lot's of 1 post members that never returned too but I left them.

Yeah it all goes towards the stats.

I log in at least once a day - the only way to see if there are new posts in the "Lounge".

Usually, I only post if I have something to contribute (question, comment, or project update).

I think the real issue is that only 5-10 of us are posting on a regular basis......we need to get some more of our members involved in the forum again, even if only to say HI and answer a question or two. It's always fun to read about other's projects too

I don't post much.  Car is put up for a couple years, so I don't have much Mini content to share.

I log in about every other day and take a little look around.

Cheers Dan and all

p.s.-Don't delete me !  11.gif

I'm here almost daily.  Just not a big poster.  Maybe once my project gets a bit more put together.

Tim.

Tim, projects have and ebb and flow to them. Post up some pics of where you are at so we can offer support. We all have felt your angst about project speed.

My moke project has taken way too long but it's getting closer now that I am back working on it. Not much that is pic worthy as it is now down to the small details.

Dan, to help achieve more traffic (and posting users) may I make this suggestion?

Quit hiding the Lounge section.  Not sure why only registered users can even know the Lounge exists, let alone view the contents.  I don't think there's anything that's discussed here in the Lounge that is so private that it can't be viewed by the general public who might stumble upon Restoration Mini and consider joining.  In my mind, the Lounge forum is where a lot of interesting things are posted and it is a great feature of this site.   Otherwise, when someone comes to look at Restoration Mini all they see are pretty cut and dried discussions of Mini parts and repairs. But there's more than life than just that stuff and that's what the Lounge features.

I'll give that a try and see.  I know a few people have had issues getting registered due to the verification security letters being too difficult. I reduced the level down to anyone can do it now.  Since all the hosting security upgrades spam and bots haven't been an issue for awhile anyway.

Thanks Dan.  Let's see how it goes.

Hey, I survived!!  I need to see if I can get on here with my iPhone.  I'm not on the computer much unless I'm at work and there I try to keep my internet whoring around to a minimum.

Where did Jim go?  He seemed to post every single day and get all fired up about something!  I'm wondering if his surveying is slowing down now that interest rates are going up.
