Title: While out and about on the backroads
Post by: Willie_B on February 27, 2022, 04:48:28 PM
Old Brick Road. Was supposed to be a private built road around 1915 I think. All brick road road 9' wide proposed from Montreal Quebec to Miami Fl. Still about 10 miles left in the outback woods of north central Florida. Also a street we came across.

Wow. I never heard of that.  Back in the day when paving with brick made sense (such as the Indy speedway).   That's quite a distance to cover.   Very cool it still exists.

Question: in "CHIEF O.F. LOVE" what's the deal with the periods in "of"?  8.gif

I think that was someones way to get the road name approved. Those could be initials. But you would not read it that way when passing by.

Or... Maybe this was to honor an ex-police chief in that area named Oscar Franklin Love!  ;D

I delivered a Mini to a guy years ago and he lived on lots of love lane, I thought he was joking with me.
