Title: Project Binky - the decades long build inches forward
Post by: BruceK on April 24, 2021, 03:12:06 PM
This historic project, which began back in the late 1980s, ;D  has a new episode.

Wow, that went faster than I thought it would.....but I guess with enough planning ahead and YEARS of work, it all goes together nicely!   77.gif

Well, several videos showing the final build progress on Binky were lost due to the forum "gap" issue.

But, let's jump ahead to the present and look at Binky actually RUNNING !!!

A few steps forward and several back again, and now they're only about 18 months behind where they thought they'd be three years ago!    ;D

The videos may be behind but Binky is actually finished and has been seen at at least one event.

It wasn't finished in that event, it barely ran and there were no door panels installed among other things.....

But I know they're way ahead of what we're seeing at this point. I still haven't quite figured out how that clutch pedal arrangement works yet....

Well here we are almost a year later and guess what? It's STILL not done!!!   ::)

So they took it back to Weston Park, same as last year and still no door panels, and frankly it runs like shit....

See for yourselves.....lots of blue smoke that I'm hopeful is just related to the tune - or lack of it.

Nick's a little weak on his trailer loading skills too!  ;D

Nick just needs to make a custom bracket to get Binky loaded.  ;D
