Engine = 1275 - High compression build ( unknown exact specs) Twin HS2's
Situation = friend /Customer has this car (its a sprite) it had a normal 123 Distributor in it... It worked until one day .. started running badly.
Fuel is OK = ignition is suspect.
Swapped quick to test to a normal 25D Distributor = car runs well again. Found the Drive of the 123 has broken, allowing too much slop in the rotor... = messy timing.
.
I have in hand for my future Turbo build a 123 Tune Distributor - in short this Dist you can plug up iva USB / or connect via bluetooth and play with the timing curves any way you want. This particular model even will retard timing based on boost signal. In my haste . the one I purchased will not work with my now sourced Block = A vs A+ == but this one i have WILL work for this car and situaiton. Customer wants it = will take my 123 ready!
What I need - is a reference or advise for a recommended timing curve for a 1275 - Higher compression type engine. ( Really as something to start me off) I think long term will be get this setup on the rolling road for a real tune... but just something to start.
Any thoughts = ??
I found this as a possible start.
4 Deg @ 600 RPM
19 Deg @ 23-2500 RPM
32 Deg @ 4300 RPM
Can any one advise differently?
Thank you!
Curve 7 or Curve 3 both work well on a 1275.
