Title: WTB : MK1 gauges
Post by: sxsman on October 01, 2015, 10:10:43 AM
Will be working on the old race car, putting it back in street trim.
Car came with no gauges.
Looking for oil, temperature and speedometer.
Either Cooper or S speedometer. Can't use a center binnacle because of Weber box.
What's out there?

Thanks Dennis.

I may have found a speedometer here in Ohio. It will need rebuilt, probably Nisonger.
I was told a new face could be made for my Authi speedometer, change from Spanish to English.
Alex also has one.
Figured someone has stripped a mini or two, might have something I need.

I need a working speedo as well. Could t get my mini approved for a classic car insurance until I prove the odometer is working.

Verify your speedo cable isn't broken.

They don't care how fast you get there, only how far it is?

Which insurance co? I'm with Grundy and as long as you don't use it to go to work as a daily driver , they could care less how many miles you do a year....since I'm mostly retired - I'm home free!  ;D

My speedo works, but just like new MINIs (and other German cars) it's about 5% fast.....I just use my Garmin for a speedo
