I bought a cheap set of these off Amazon, I have to repair some broken, corroded wires in the back of the silver Audi - there's been water getting into the left rear corner of the car (I'm guessing a sunroof drain that isn't) and that's right where a shit ton of wires, connectors, computers and fuse panels reside!
In the interim till I can get after it Rose bought a top only car cover (it's considered her car, I have the white one) that actually comes down clear over the side windows too. I've been using my Mini car cover temporarily till hers came in today and it def did the trick, lending more credence to the idea that it's coming in from the top of the car somewhere. The Mini one barely covered the top of the car, but it did the job....since I've been using it there hasn't been any more water in the car, and it has rained as much as 5" one night!
So, these cost me about $11 for the set and once I took a good look at them I realized out of the 80 some pieces, only 30 were individual, the rest are all duplicates of the 30! They came in a nice carry case, which is a good idea as some of them are pretty sharp, and I think the set should cover any and all the different pin I need to release!

They are pretty small too, about 2" long, but I don't think that will be an issue when using them. The variety is pretty amazing tho.....
We only figured out there was an issue when the alarm started going off in the middle of the night, for no reason that we could find. Plus the kick to open for the rear hatch and the rear parking distance beeper all stopped working, although one of those could be down to the broken or corroded wires - at least I hope so!
Our driveway slopes pretty good and that's the low corner of the car......the tan multi-pin connector in the bottom left is the one with the corroded, broken wires. There are three different computers back in that corner too, and it was full of water up to the lower one!
I have a set of those and the hardest part for me is determining which one to use and which orientation. Many are very similar.
Yes, I expect there to be a long learning curve, esp as the connector I'm trying to get out of the plastic housing is tiny.....it looks like 24 or 26 ga wire too. Then I have to figure out how to get all the corrosion off both pieces before I try to re-crimp or solder it together.
The worst part is that it's at an awkward angle to get at. I already repaired one wire in this bundle that broke out of the connector, I was able to get enough bared up to solder it together, but this one broke right at the connector pin.
I'll take some more pics as I get into it, I'm headed over to a buddy's shop on either Fri or Sat so I can put it up on the lift and try to find where the drain exits the body, then trace it back to see if the tube is broken or what's going on......
The problem with cleaning the rear sunroof drains is that you can't see or reach them......the glass sunroof panel in front goes over the top of the back section when opened, the drain is back in the corner under the second panel.....I can't even see it in there!
