Title: Japanese CV Boots
Post by: bikewiz on February 28, 2025, 07:08:30 PM
I picked up a set of inner and outer Japanese CV boots from Classic Minis Japan. The box alone was worth the price. The boots are really well made heavy duty rubber.

Made out of an actual rubber compound and not some plasticized crap pretending to be rubber?

How much were they?

Really nice smooth heavy rubber.
They're around $50/pair the HD type from MS are $35/pair for comparison, so not cheap, but the last set from MS I got lasted, I think, a little less than 5 years.

Yes, rubber products I've been getting from Spares or Sport have been just crap lately. Ball joint boots don't even last a month - in fact I've had some that split before I got to drive the car after replacing a ball joint or tie rod end.

That's why I went ahead and bought the expensive ball joints from Japan for the hot rod, in hopes that they'll last.

All of the stuff I've bought from Classic Minis Japan has been really good quality. We'll see how these boots last.
