Title: Bulkhead Stabilizer Bracket
Post by: bikewiz on February 18, 2025, 05:06:58 AM
So as with most minis that saw any weather the stabilizer bracket on my car was a bit crispy. I decide to fab one out of stainless and bolt it to the bulkhead. I made a reinforcement plate for the inside of the car, which was probably unnecessary, a couple of fender washers would have been enough. I used some 3M panel bond behind the bracket to prevent any future rust and double up the attachment. The first photo is the original that I flattened so I could pattern from it.

Nice.  The originals tend to crack too.

Very pretty! What is the rod coming out of the boot for, next to where master cylinder cover plate is bolted on?

It's the push rod for the booster/MC, it's got the rod under the dash for the left to right brake system.

Oh, of course....if I had gone out to the shop and looked mine is built the same way - it all looks different without the booster and bracket!

But it's less than 40* out there right now, so.......Ima stay in the house where it's warm!
