I sort of remember when I took the old doors apart that there was a felt rub strip behind the inside door latch mechanism "rod". I don't have the old doors anymore to check, so is there a felt rub strip? Picture below of the inside of my door.
Yeah there's some fabric like strip back there. Although I'm not sure how important it really is.
Yes, just some self stick felt from a hobby shop will work perfectly.....
