Has anyone shipped parts over to the UK? If so, which method, service is best value?
Thanks,
Garry
DHL seems to be the best value coming from England to the US, I think I'd check and see if you can ship the other way with them too?
I reciently had to ship a Master Cyl back to mini spares.
Straight UPS + Fedex + DHL were stupid priced ~100$
LEarned about Parcel Monkey.

Fill in your info= Choose your rate = Bit more info = pay + labels you print and in my case took to a Fedex Dropoff.
consolidated into other fedex shipments to move over.
Depends on the speed the $$ increases.
Thanks for the input Dave and Jedduh01.
Yes I saw online quotes from FedEx and DHL were crazy $250 to $400, but quick ~ 3 days.
The USPS is showing $80 to $139 depending on how quickly delivery is.
I'll check the parcel monkey site and see recommendations.
Appreciate it.

Wow, depending on how big or heavy your package is that seems really high. I get stuff from MiniSpares in England for an average of $30. Even a box with a cylinder head and exhaust system was less than $100. 4 - 13" tires was $75.....all on DHL and all fairly quick - 3-5 days once they get it in their hands.
Parcelmonkey looks promising to lower the cost. Understand on DHL pricing from Minispares as I just purchased an RC40 system and it cost 70 gap's to ship with a couple other parts in the box.
Garry
Agreed the DHL UK to US rate is surprisingly good = Rarely ever have a DHL CHarge over 100$ - Sets of Tires ( large and bulky) ship fine.
Long boxes with steering racks + or exhaust also ship fine.
The USA to UK however was shocking.
Mini spares just has a great contract with DHL + assume DHL needs reasons to bring their planes over to the US so they make it work.
Parcel monkey is a consolidator website. giving multiple options and routes. In my case I chose Fedex 10-15 days - The label i applied shipped to NEW York to a consolidator = that package then goes combined with others to save space and when full it will move on over the ocean. ( takes a bit more time) and i dont know if its going ocean or air.. but either way 26$ couldn't be beat.
I tried USPS... but the website was super annoying _ Didnt know the Harmonic tariff code and just frustrating... at a similar cost.
Didnt want to GO to USPS to fill paperwork either. Our poor Postal service....
Be aware of the 'invoice' costs / goods cost on your paperwork. UK is very tight on customs duties + items cost for a delivery.
the Expensive mini parts suppliers ( MED + Swiftune ) even have to advise to return a shipment please indicate used return of used parts, not NEW parts and the NEW value or they're then stuck for the IMPORT duties for a product they shipped ....
Our friend Cole Classic mini DIY... had a raffle = gave away a pair of LED Headlights... 250$ value.... on the paperwork.
Delivered to the UK ... winner / Recipient got a 110£ import customs bill to receive the package... Mr Cole refunded the winner had to eat that to the fees...
Jedduh01,
Good Morning!
Thanks for all the additional info concerning shipping to the UK.
Garry
Yeah the UK really does like its taxes and duties, doesn't it? For example, more than 63% of the price of a liter of petrol there is fuel duty and VAT.
