There comes a time in most peoples lives when you have had enough. Whether its the people you work with or the age you get to when you say that's it I'm done. With me its both because about three weeks ago they fired the stupid fuck of a manager I had that wouldn't listen to someone like me that has been running the same machine for 24 years. Always asking how can we improve things and never use our ideas unless it was to make him look good.
After 44 years, 5 layoffs and various other things in my life today is my last day in this industry.
I understand that Dan is training to use some of the things that I have made parts for so when I last seen any of those they were good and not assembled wrong. ;D

Yes on both questions. Not allowed to run any 737 max parts for the last month or so.
Our 767s have been doing a lot of Max lift for various airlines. No telling how long that mess will be. My guess is they rename the planes when it's done.

It's an interesting industry for sure. I could complain for days about the stupid ass tolerance call outs on prints that make a part cost 10 times as much and take 3 times longer for no reason. Yet a critical tolerance is left wide open we make it safe anyway.
I'm way down the food chain in aviation but we make a few parts you should see the stupid tolerances on 02 bottle brackets so extreme that the 02 bottles themselves have a wider tolerance and sometimes won't fit. Landing light electronics module enclosure with a +0 -.001 length tolerance WTF it could be band sawed off within .125" and be just fine but nope gotta do a second op and mill each one because changing a print in this industry is a pita.

The only industry that Quality is legislated (FAA) and makes the industry extremely expensive since costs are not controlled by economics as in all other industries.
