It's been ages since I have posted here. I've had a 12 x 14 shed with loft built last summer to properly store my classic (Oliver). I completed this restoration almost 10 years ago. This summer will mark 2 years since I replaced inner and outer sills and some portions of the front floor pans.
These pictures show 10 year old paint on the doors, and 2 year old paint on wings and quarters.
I just thought I'd it was about time I posted a couple pictures.
How many years has it been now?? Car is still looking good.
10 years on the doors, and 2 this summer on the wings and quarters. This Mini was kept under a very nice outdoor cover for years, braving the elements like a brave soldier. The color is an RM Carizzma Color called Indigo. I altered the pearl a little to get a solid color look in the shade, and man does it pop in the sun. The clear coat is Glasurit brand (BASF also). I've sprayed this stuff since the early 90's.
Thanks for the compliments.
I see the last time you posted was January 2015!
94 touring, yeah, I was disappointed with how the MINI folks in my community were all about going someplace to eat. The drive seemed to be somewhere else on the priority list. The classic group here, aka Mid-Atlantic Minis, always seemed to want to schedule long weekend events. Not everybody can afford those long drives, hotels, and all the dining regularly.
I'm all about the drive, so I do most all mine solo.
Not real big on social media these days.
Are you coming over to the CMU Mini 60 in October? Mike's events are all about the driving!
Once I see what that is all about, I may consider it. Like I said, I love to drive my Mini. I'm just not big on overnighters.
