Post by: 94touring on October 08, 2018, 03:37:26 PM
I don't have the Vizard book on carb modifications, but has anyone done any of these mods.  If so do you have pictures?

I have the book, but I haven't done the mods myself.

The best pics I've seen were of Spridget carbs modded by Huffaker.  They milled the shafts quite thin and silver soldered the butterflies in place.  No screws and no screw holes!

basically Sold here= and a list of mods.  for a Hot rod SU.

Main thing is to clear the throat up = Get that air in ' and smoothly as possible,

I know my dad with his MGB race carbs =  I believe used JB weld to make the ramp up to the jet smoother.
along with butterfly screws trimmed flush. and smoothed.  along with pivot shaft thinned (if you choose to go that far)  and sharp edges 'cleaned up)
