Title: Wheel centers
Post by: Willie_B on September 21, 2016, 08:25:31 AM
The refurbished wheels I did recently did not have centercaps. Time to get creative as there is a local car show this weekend. Prowl around the house with calipers in hand to see what I can find that will fit the 64mm opening. Found some 16oz styrofoam cups that should work.
Cut it down to size and paint.
That did not work well, the paint melt the cup.
So I painted on a layer of Elmers glue on the sides and poured a good bit to fill the bottom to cover all the letters and numbers.
Now the paint will not affect the cup.
That looks much better now. Easy peasy.

Nice solution!  What is the glossy white you used to seal the cup to keep the black from melting it?

Good old Elmers glue. Any white glue should be as good.
