Title: Gave the new color sanding disc a whirl today
Post by: 94touring on April 17, 2013, 04:49:14 PM
The sandpaper I ordered showed up (mudhen I ship yours tomorrow buddy), and I tested out the 2000 grit and 3000 grit DA pads.  They work amazing!  Maybe this is extra exciting to me since color sanding cars by hand is the worlds biggest drag.  Tried them dry, but wet worked the best.  The pads seem to last pretty long too which is a nice bonus.

I use the 3m Trizact system. Use the 1500 dry to start then I go to Imperial wetdry and wet sand 2000, 2500 and then polish.

I have found that If you try and use the DA for the complete process the car ends up looking like it has cellulite when finish

I use a 3M Trizact 3000 grit wet. It's pretty awesome.
