Title: oil filter change mistake
Post by: Hayman9644 on June 09, 2009, 11:17:33 AM
Yep I made a mess.  Thought I would share it with you guys so you dont do the same thing I did.  I changed my canister filter and used the wrong gasket that goes against/inside the part that is on the block and between the can.  I used a wix filter and should of used the middle sized gasket.  Also just FYI  I got a larger o ring for the long bolt.  The one they supply is small and wasnt sealing totally.  So if anyone needs a larger O ring let me know and I can send you one for postage and cost.

Yes I deffinetly am going to convert mine to the spin on type after this last mess.  One of the guys at work said he could possibly make me one.  Maybe copy yours once you can get some pictures of it.
