I'm prepping the car for paint and I'm removing the side windows. I plan to install a set of pop-out windows should I cut the old gasket from the inside or outside for the easiest removal.
Also what prep should I do for the installation of the pop-outs?

I just took a box cutter to mine from the outside, cut right thru the rubber and pulled the windows out......not sure what to tell you about putting them back in as I haven't done the swap myself.

Yeah just cut from the outside one pull out.  There's nothing to pop outs.  Add rubber and screw in the windows.

is the painting related to being backed into? I thought it was just the door that was damaged.

It is "related" to the door damage but I wanted to address some small issues before they became big issues.
The resto shop will do more if their job is basically just masking and painting.

I bought a set of pop-out windows a few years ago and never installed them this gives me the opportunity.

Are those the stock Mini seats? They look comfy!

I got them from Newton Commercial. They're a direct fit to the mini brackets. They are pretty comfy, my only complaint would be they're reclined a bit too much. I modified the drivers seat so I wouldn't be positioned like some kid in a Honda Civic with his hat on backwards.

are those the ones where you need to be built like a 14 year old boy to fit into them?

Cause I'm not, and I don't!

I'm built like maybe an 18 yr old
They are fairly narrow. The outside bolster also makes getting out a bit more work.
