What's on your wrist today?

Better yet, what's your recent watch acquisition?

Being a car guy, for some reason, watches resonate with me. I love unique watches.  Some are mainstream some are one offs that take some imagination to like.

My more recent acquisitions:

A new GS watch in Blue, I am digging blue recently for some reason.

This one is  bumming me out, I purchased it about 5 months ago and it died this weekend, need to chase down warranty info and see if can be serviced. I wanted a Monaco, this was my poor mans version a B&R and now it stopped running.

Some cheaper watches that have some cool qualities about them.

Egard makes this watch, it is pretty stunning in person, really well built nice movement and a good price. Recently all the movie stars asked for their likeness to be removed from their website. I was going to put a link it may offend some so I will refrain.

Another Egard, this one was designed with the help of Captain Kirk (Shatner) and has the Webb telescope prominently displayed.

Another space watch, this one has some moon dust in the face. It was a limited run and I have all the paperwork authenticating the moon dust.

I also picked up a used Breitling watch that was about 50% off its normal retail because it had some scuffs on the back.

This reminds me that I have collected a few Duboise Depraz 8510 chronograph parts for your father's Viceroy 1163. I'm not sure I have enough to make a functional chronograph yet, but I always look for parts when I'm talking with a jeweler or antique store that deals in watches.

This is pretty much the only watch I wear these days.

Now that I'm retired, so are my watches!

Prior to that I wore an oyster perpetual in gold/ss and a SS quartz, my daily is a Swiss Army watch.

Most people just look at their phone to tell the time these days, but those who wear one seem to wear those giant dial watches!

I actually use mine and I know this because when the battery died recently I kept looking at a dead watch.  Traveling around the planet often times I lose track of days.  The thing with the watch I wear is it gives me what day it is and the date.  I leave it set to home time and my phone gives me local time wherever I may be.  I've thought about buying the same watch with a different color face.

Well lol, I got looking on their website and made a different watch for myself.  Thanks Jim  :cheesy:

Those are pretty cool - they sure have a LOT of styles......and they're not that much money.

Dan I purchased the same watch for my FIL as a gift years ago, he never has it off his wrist.

Can the battery be changed on it?

Yeah it's as simple to change as a metal watch.  I had a similar one I probably wore for 10 years but the face fell off and the place that repaired it did a bad job.  I replaced it with the first one I posted. Here's the back showing the backplate.

New watch showed up.

I would love to know what you have and what you want for it.

My Grandfather gave me the Viceroy, I still have it. Sad story, I purchased a Viceroy from a guy in Belgium, it was perfect slight patina and looked great. One evening about a year ago I was taking it off, it slipped out of my hand and I dropped it on a tile floor from about 3 feet up. A hand fell off on the dial and its not running.

I have put off taking it in for repair because I am afraid I am getting bad news. Its my favorite watch.  Let me know what you have and if you want to sell it I may be interested.

It's just a plain Citizen but I love it. Had it 6 years now and it's a little beat up because I  wear it daily. The bands wear out, but the watch keeps going.  I love the Eco-Drive function which means it never needs a battery.  I've actually thought of buying another one just to have it in reserve in case this one dies someday. I like it that much.

I love a nice knock around watch. Nice Nato band on there as well. I like that sharp black face too, I did not know those never needed batteries. I am guessing its a quartz movement which = zero maintenance. I am trying to remember if I have a Citizen, I do not think I do.

I know I have a cool little GMT style Timex that I will wear to work a lot.

I posted about this watch on here years ago.  I have this REC watch I wear a lot. Its more of my knock around watch. I wear it most.  I bought it years ago when I first bought the Pickup.

Its face is the body of a classic Mini. This was the first watch REC Watches made. Back then they gave you paper literature, I have a copy of the title of the donor car that that the face is made from and a little story about a past owner of the car.
