Title: Heritage rear subframe (or not?)
Post by: ADRay on May 01, 2020, 06:31:14 AM
In reference to my refurb thread: http://www.restorationmini.com/forum/index.php?topic=2206.0, I am buying a new rear subframe.

what's your experience with Heritage and / or aftermarket rear subframes?

I like the idea of a Heritage one, but it seems no place stocks them. And I've heard the price difference doesn't out weigh the time spent modifying and dialing in the radius arms on aftermarket units.

Thanks

When I restored the white Moke, its original rear subframe was beyond my capability to try to rebuild.  I went with a complete pre-built rear subframe and suspension from MiniSport.  It went in fine without any issues.

I haven't had any issues with knockoff rears.  Fit fine and alignment is good.

Had a heritage rear that I got for a steal a few years ago and not one smidge of an issue putting that into a well worn Mk4 body.  It sure was shiny when I got it :)
