Another great reason to do business with Mike from Mini Spares USA - instead of taking an opportunity to sell me a par the and I would have to order and ship across the pond he gives me a part number at a National parts store for a part that works on my vehicle off of a 74 Ford pick up.

Bruce - the part is a gas cap.

Stant - non locking gas cap from a 1974 Ford F-100 fits the mini.

Is that a vented or non-vented cap?

Dave - it doesn't look vented to me. I have a vented tank though.

So do I, that's why I asked - I need a non-vented cap. I can't seem to pull that number up at Autozone tho....

A vented cap with a vented tank should be fine - optional extra venting.  It is the unvented tank that requires a vented cap.

I agree, it should be - but when I fill this tank and use a vented cap it pisses gas out on right hand turns - as we found out on our Texas run when Bruce was behind me, so I put the original locking non-vented cap back on and no leakage now. I also don't have staining under the filler tube like most Mini do.....
