Yeah, apparently some company is selling those stickers for E-types based up upon the car's actual metal license plate.

Revisited the price of fuel from a page ago, we're down in the $2.20s now.

Wow. Hope it stays that way for a while.

My eye caught the not-familiar shape of this Fiat today on Mexican plates.  I think it's a Panda model. Bigger than a Mini but smaller than a MINI.

I was listening to a conference earlier with US auto makers and sounds like they'll be able to produce small cars again like that fiat and all the other small things I see in Asia.

We live in hope! North American vehicles have gotten stupidly big and not very useful. For instance, a pickup truck was originally a low bed truck for small loads you would "pick up". The bed and sides were low enough to easily load and reach over. Now they have steps built into the tailgate because they are so high up. At least we can get things like the smaller European delivery/trade vans.

That's kind of what I was hoping for too. Options other than MASSIVE would be nice.

Couple rallycross action shots from the last couple of months - some are me and some are my son...last event we both drove it - and apparently both broke it.  Developed a weird skip halfway through the day and it also looks like the motor mounts and upper brace mount bushing is completely gone so we called it a day.

Broke the r53, too - cracked the head which I think was already cracked but we really did it in during the rallyx.  Putting on a replacement head and all new coilovers now.   :cheesy:

Happy holidays!

Gas was down to $2.19 here this morning. No complaints from me.

Those low prices haven't hit KC yet, I paid $3.49 last time I filled up a few days ago - for non-ethanol premium tho. Still, a $1.20 from regular to premium is way more than the gap has been before.

It's nice to see it coming down when everything else has been going up.

I'm reading that housing is due for a large "correction", especially in markets like Denver, Phoenix and the like.

They always could make smaller cars, they stopped doing it because they make so much more money on big ones.....percieved value in the US - big is worth more than small.....

I think most people who own Mini/MINIs appreciate how much better a properly made small car can be to drive and own. When I get in my Allroad (which is small compared to most vehicles on the road today) it feels huge to me. Even my blue MINI Clubman felt big after driving my classic. For most people's use a classic Mini would be perfect. With a modern fuel sipping gas engine of around 100hp it would d anything a commuter needed.

There's actually a lot of regulations that have been in the way to make production of smaller cars unfeasible in the US.
