Are you going? It looks like a terrific place to do this but it's just too far away for me this year.

I'm flying out to Portland and have rented a 2017 MINI Convertible from a private individual for the better part of a week. (kinda like an AirB&B for car rentals). We will turn it in at the end of the event, rent another car and will then tour OR., WA, and Victoria B.C. before flying home from Seattle.

MiniDave

I would love to go to this event in Oregon, but just can't swing it.....have a great time and take lots of pics!

Sounds good. I'll be driving a blue MINI convertible with red hood stripes. Should be easy to spot among all the classics.

MiniDave

Scargo, I sent Jeff your phone number so you guys can touch base, he has a light blue classic Mk1

I met up with Jeff on the show field yesterday. His Speedwell Blue Mk1 is gorgeous. Nice work Jeff !!

The venue here at Hood River Resort is fabulous. Never been to Oregon before and I'm loving it.

There are approximately 85 cars in attendance. Yesterday on the show field I counted 72 cars (45 classics and 27 new). That's a pretty high percentage of new MINI's for a Mini Meet, which is partly attributed to the heavy involvement of the premier sponsor, MINI of Portland. Their visibility and presence is everywhere, as was their promotion of this event. The 27 MINI's on the show field did not include any of their cars.

There were about 32 cars participating in the AutoX
this morning.

Pics or it didn't happen!

I'm glad you found Jeff.....

We took a 120-mile rally drive today, with incredible scenery. The car ran excellently, although the little 850 needed second gear on one hill. However, it cruised along happily at 40-55 mph for most of the route.

MiniDave

Great turnout! I don't know why, but it's fun to go cruising with a big bunch of Minis!  :13:

What engine is this? I think its a Honda B18 with the cover removed. I see an inter cooler to the side. I am guessing a turbo has been stuffed somewhere. That is a full engine bay!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride! -Hunter S. Thompson

No, that's a A series with a BMW motorcycle twin cam head on it, and yes I think it also has a turbo. In a Pup no less!!!!

Without the turbo they can make about 165 hp. With it? No idea!

There are kits available, but it does require some machine work on the block....

It is an A series with the twin-cam BMW head, as Dave said. It was built by JET motors with there turbo kit and puts over 200 hp to the wheels.

It's not the pup pictured before; that was a poor order of pictures on my part. It is in a saloon.
