Getting ready for some Mini racing at the Castle Combe circuit.   Not too many Minis in the car park.  But there are some interesting cars.

Great Marcos!  There are a couple over here that race in the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix, but they're not that nice!  Cool!

I don't know if he'll be there, but if you run into KC, please say 'hello' for me.

I don't think I know KC.  Is it Keith Calver?

Some paddock photos.  I learned there are 2 classes:  Mighty Minis. And Super Mighty Minis.

Mighty Minis are basically stock SPI 1275 cars running street tires.  So about 63hp.  No mods allowed.  They have stock dashes and even have heaters (turned on to help with car cooling but vented to under the car )

The Super MM cars are 1293 engines and make about 90hp.  I don't know all the mods allowed for these.

Yep - KC = Keith Calver.  He sometimes attends these events when time allows.

Calver built up my head and I bought a set of 1.4 rockers from him.  Will be having him do up a 1098 head too for 100 over high comp pistons.

MiniDave

I thought you were using the 1275 head on the 1100?

Wasn't planning on it unless Keith says otherwise.  My understanding is the porting and chambers don't go well on the big bore heads on a small bore block.

MiniDave

Too bad, I just learned how to notch the block for the valve clearance..... 8.gif
