(Dan can you figure out the code so we can embed these?)
I will look into it for ya. If I don't forget!
This is a tutorial a friend of mine posted on a smaller that this board, board. I do not have time to mess with it so I am pasting it here and we will see if it works.
IN the past, it was pretty easy.
On the Youtube page, you would click "share", then select "embed" and finally, select "use old embed code".
They have removed the old embed code option from their options now, so what are we to do?? Click a LINK and go to Youtube? Oh, hell no!
Instead, you use the following work around.
This is much more time consuming and more prone to going wrong when you copy and paste something incorrectly, so that makes it more fun - right?
Whatever.
Let's say you wanted to post this video:
https://youtu.be/9Eh7-B3ncK4
Damn. Just a link.
New embed code? Let's try:
<iframe></iframe>
Damn, ya bastard.
Ok.... let's try the work-around....
Copy the following (you know, select it with your mouse, then ctrl+c)
{embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XXXXXXXXXX?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed}
Now, paste it where you want a video. (ctrl+v for paste)
Change the leading and trailing brackets: { and } to <and>.
And change the ten Xs to the Youtube video code. What is this? Well, in the "share" link that I posted earlier, it would be 9Eh7-B3ncK4
With any luck, you should get THIS:
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Eh7-B3ncK4?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>
Or if you insert code e-ORhEE9VVg, you get this:
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e-ORhEE9VVg?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>
You could also just use a site like this to generate the code for you:
http://www.tools4noobs.com/online_tools/youtube_xhtml/
Trying using the link above:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="width:450px; height:366px;" data="//www.youtube.com/v/9Eh7-B3ncK4?color2=FBE9EC&version=3">
<param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/9Eh7-B3ncK4?color2=FBE9EC&version=3" />
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
</object><div style="font-size: 0.8em"><a href="https://www.tools4noobs.com/online_tools/youtube_xhtml/">Get your own valid XHTML YouTube embed code</a></div>
Welp, none of those work and I have to fight the urge to screw with it, I am racing rain today. I will mess with it this afternoon.
I also did a little research on getting youtube videos to embed in BBCode. There is a nice method available if that BBCode extension (tags) have been implemented into the forum software. The methods Jim was trying are related, but again, rely on the tags being supported in the BBCode manager of the forum package.
Dan may have to check for an update to gain that support.
Yeah, it's all just an extension. I use another SMF forum that has it installed, you just past the link and it auto-embeds, or another non-SMF where you tag it
There may be a mod I can add. I'm a little tied up till next week before I can sit at a computer and play with it.
This may be what I need to install. http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3982
Wow, thanks for all the effort guys!
BTW, did anyone watch the vid I posted?
No?
See, this is why we need the embed feature.....

Love the video, hate that bitch. I can go off but do not want to offend any.
Here is a good one I saw last week.
Women who wear activewear everywhere.

Click the YouTube icon and there ya go.
Well, that's a good link, but not embedded.....
Gotta give me more than 5 seconds to figure it out!

Love the early SNL, but I have to say the current crop are pretty good this year too......BTW if you load a vid from You Tube, you can embed it using the You Tube button in the reply box.......
This is more in the vein of FUN videos!
Nick Swift in his Mini at Goodwood .....talk about a dab of oppo!

That tire vid was pretty cool, the technology needed to make it unfold and refold like that is pretty impressive. I've never seen one inflated before....I thought as long as it took to add air that it was going to explode, turns out he just had his compressor off so he didn't have a lot of pressure in the tank.....
That is 100X funnier because it is in German and the guy sounds like a madman....
See if you spot the continuity problem with this commercial...
Someone sent me this today:
pretty cool I'd be afraid of getting something in the intake I always wondered how do they put air filters on these setups or do they? you never see them with filters.
Jeff
That was really interesting to watch! They'd better plan on adding some filters or they'll be rebuilding that engine very soon.
That was interesting to watch. Dave did you notice what seemed to be lots of reversion during mod range hard throttle. I wonder what longer intake runners to keep the velocity up would do for performance. Seemed to run pretty good anyway.
Jeff
I can't extract the YouTube link but this was in Tulsa this week.

And you run this site? ;)
From my cell phone! ;D
Not exactly funny, but should put a smile on your face, it did for me.
Watched it live a couple of weeks ago. Spectacular. Cousin (employee Badge #16) is machinist at SpaceX and gave heads up about a hour before.

When I read they were launching it, I was ready to drive up to Cape Canaveral (100 miles from me) but then saw Vandenberg was the launch site and was bummed. I would have loved to have seen at least the launch live. Not sure I would be able to see the landing.
That is a remarkable feat.
Coulda swore it was Canaveral. All articles I saw was scheduled for Canaveral. I think video mentions Canaveral.

You may be correct, I thought the one where the rocket fell over was at the Cape and the one where it was successful was at Vendenberg?
This video is from Dec 21st, I thought I read last week they launched another one in Cali, I got confused and thought this video was that launch.
Regardless, it was an amazing feat. I need to pay closer attention to the launch schedules and see if I can get up and see one in person again. I used to live on Cape Canaveral and work on Merritt Island right outside the Nasa gates, so I had a front row to all the launches back then. Move 100 miles away and you are completely disconnected from it. Crazy.

Lol yeah I saw that the other day too. I have it stuck in my head.

They're throwing these things up like July fireworks. Falcon 9 with Jason-3 Satellite scheduled for tomorrow at Vandenberg. I'd like to see a night launch.

Wow, talk about the great white north! Nipawin is way up there in Sask....... ;D
Nicely edited video, BTW - but where was the "funny " part? 8.gif
Dave....if you watch to the very end.........after the fade
Ah....I got sidetracked looking up Nipawin......my camera's done that a few times too!
What are you using, GoPro?
This one is directed at those that choose to shoot video incorrectly

That was GoPro2 yes....camera and case survived the fall
If I can find the clip.... a friend had his mounted on the front of his Mini - on the cowl - and it went flying! didn't survive. The car behind him caught the whole thing on his cam, including when it hit the ground and exploded into a bunch of pieces. GoPro didn't do shit for him too......
I got sidetracked wondering whats keeping that tool box from tipping over lol. Kept clicking the video back and yup most the drawers are open and it's standing. Nice looking car also.
Ha...I noticed that also when watching it back. Dangerous situation I know...I've never had one tip though ( knocking on wood ). My only saving grace is that most the tools from the higher drawers were probably all over the floor! A bad habit of mine is not putting tools away right away.

Go Pro killed the Chase Cam and it is a shame, Randy Chase is a super cool and down to earth guy. If this had happened with one of his cams he would have sent you a replacement for free.
I developed a problem with one of my Chase recorders years after I purchased it, I contacted Chase to have it repaired, and instead of a repair, Randy himself contacted me, apologized for the recorder crapping the bed and send me a free replacement.
I resisted the Go Pro scene for a long time, I have 1 go pro, I have a Countour, which I like much better than my Go Pro and I still have my Chase cams. I used to have one hard wired into my RX7 so I could turn it on anytime I felt like I was going to do something stupid.
I may wire it into my Mini just for yucks.
I never had a camera fall off any or my cars I guess I am lucky, that did make for a funny end to the video though Spitz. Also, +1 for damn, you are way up there in Clark Gilles land. Not much up to the north of you.
Stay warm. Do you have 3 seasons like Main? Snow, mud and bugs?
Sometimes it feels like we only have three seasons....yes.
In actuality we get a nice four months stretch. Very green, very warm...we can reach 35 degrees.
I shot that video when the season was almost over, which is why it looks so drab and gloomy.
I'll have to Google this Chase cam
I watched it several times and laughed each time.
Lol ok that made me laugh. Every time I see one of them at the field in Greensboro this will play in my head.
This one couldn't be more true and has been a big hit among us airline pilots.
Love it Dan and love the Honda taking off, I laughed my ass off.
Whenever I see a pilot or even the staff for a plane, I leave them the fuck alone, I figure they endure a lifetime of bullshit and the last thing they want is to be bothered by a stupid traveler.
I loved the work work work.... I tend to do that to my wife and today I kept hearing that and making sure to avoid the subject and talk about fun things.
My inner 12 year old thought this was funny. My bother in law sent it to me saying, look at the cute chicken.

Fun in car video keeping my company in the office this afternoon while I work.
Remember When Harry met Sally? Well, this is when Eric met Nige.....a funny bit of '80's advertising...... ;D
Race on Sunday, go buy something else on Monday?
I've never heard fewer words come out of Murray Walker's mouth.
No matter where you stood in the election, this is funny.

I saw this years ago, thought it hilarious and finally found it again.
This is an actual news report, but when I saw where they took the misbehaving tourists, I had to laugh.
This is very puzzling to me - they arrived early - like a few hours early and were told to leave? When they wouldn't the popo were called and they drug them out of the hotel? Then took them to a graveyard? Did something get lost in the translation here?
I have travelled and stayed at hostels in Europe, the most stringent were in Germany (imagine that!) There, the doors open from 5-6 in the evening, if you weren't there you weren't getting in - period! You were expected to leave by 8 am, and the doors were then locked.
Seems to me the tourists were ill mannered and were demanding their rooms outside of check-in hours. Chinese tourists have a reputation of being the worst behaved.
It looks more like the police carried them out of the hostel and deposited them on the sidewalk outside to throw their tantrums.
It made me laugh about the graveyard.
Jen lived in Toronto near Chinatown and absolutely loathed their manners. Rude and then some.
