Title: Titanium Manifold studs
Post by: bikewiz on February 24, 2021, 11:15:31 AM
Because I was goofing around with the carb spacer I had a good look at the studs, which looked pretty rough, as in someone took them out with vise grips. I hunted around for something better either stainless or Ti. I forgot I bought some of these Ti studs for my exhaust 6 or so years ago and these guys are still at it. For the low price of $34 delivered I bought another set, why not it's only money....
By the way the exhaust studs still look brand new.

Good grief, $8.50 a stud?

Do you have to do anything with regards to the nuts, any special lube or locktite?

I used copper based never seize when I did the exhaust studs, when I had my header re-Jet Hot coated they came right out. I have some marine never seize I may try, we use it at the bike shop for the bikes ridden "year 'round" in the salt and crap. The label states it's for metals in highly corrosive environments at high temperature to prevent galling and seizing, even though the intake doesn't get that hot.
