Title: Has anyone ever painted a Mini ...
Post by: BruceK on August 26, 2018, 12:57:41 PM
...the same color as the engine?

No, not with engine paint.  But the same paint code as BMC engine green?   I was staring at my freshly painted engine and it occurred to me that this color green might look pretty good on the exterior of a Mini.   It's a bit lighter and more yellowish than BRG, and with a OEW roof I think it would be interesting.

Please ignore my very amateur masking work.  It was really hot and I was pretty tired - that's the excuse I'm using.  Of course this way I just painted the front and sides of the engine, but I really didn't want to pull it out just to paint it.  So this is sort of a half assed job.   I'm hoping when everything is back together no one will notice that the back has not been painted - it's already the same green.  Just tired looking.

Here's a few Minis I found on the Interwebs that kinda look like that color.

Looks very close to the "Brooklands" green of the panel van I had not long ago.
